TV host, Mike Holmes was born on 3 August 1963 in Halton Hills, Ontario, Canada. His parents are Jim Holmes and Shirley Holmes. Mike Holmes has an impressive career record, and this is due to his will to learn, especially at a young age. At the age of 6, his father, who was a construction worker taught him on craft skills which he has implemented until now.  By the time Mike Holmes was 19, he had begun his own construction company with 13 employees, and at 21, he ventured into founding his own renovation company.  For over 20 years, he has maintained his to companies against factors like bankruptcy among other constraining factors.

In 2006, Mike Holmes began a self-titled Renovation foundation after seeing a poorly done renovation and took it upon himself to fix it.
